<p>We have some clarity surrounding the 4 Nations Face-Off, as four Toronto Maple Leafs players were named to Team Canada, USA, Sweden and Finland, respectively.</p>
<p>Auston Matthews (Team USA) and William Nylander (Team Sweden) were already named to their country&#8217;s rosters, while Mitch Marner (Team Canada) and Jani Hakanpaa (Team Finland) were announced Wednesday.</p>
<p>The biggest omission may have been John Tavares, who was left off Canada&#8217;s team despite recording 11 goals and 22 points in 24 games.</p>

<p>Marner, Matthews and Nylander  were almost guaranteed locks to represent their country at this tournament because of who they are and how they&#8217;ve continued their top form, but Hakanpaa was a surprise. Although it felt like there was an outside chance he&#8217;d be selected to Team Finland, I&#8217;m not sure many expected him to be picked, especially because he is sidelined with a lower-body injury with Toronto and on the IR.</p>
