<h3>Canucks sign Marcus Pettersson to 6-year, $33 million extension</h3>
<p>Marcus Pettersson will be part of the Vancouver Canucks&#8217; long-term future, as the team signed him to a six-year extension worth $33 million on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Pettersson was acquired by the Canucks from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, in a trade that saw Drew O&#8217;Connor also join the Canucks, in exchange for Danton Heinen, Vincent Desharnais, prospect Melvin Fenstrom and a 2025 first-round pick with a top-13 protection. And it appears that Pettersson isn&#8217;t going anywhere, anytime soon as Daily Faceoff&#8217;s Frank Seravalli reported that Pettersson received a full no-move clause for the first three years of his new deal.</p>

<p>The 28-year-old recorded three goals and 18 points in 49 games this season, split between the Canucks and Penguins. Pettersson averaged 22:03 per game with the Penguins, with a minus-four goal differential and a 49 percent share of the expected goals at 5-on-5.</p>

<h3>Wild&#8217;s Ryan Hartman appeals 10-game suspension</h3>
<p>The NHLPA submitted an appeal on Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman, requesting a reduction of his 10-game suspension, issued from an incident stemming from Saturday&#8217;s game against the Ottawa Senators.</p>
<p>Hartman appeared to intentionally push Tim Stutzle&#8217;s head into the ice during Saturday&#8217;s game, and was given a match penalty for intent to injure. The suspension is the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/minnesota-wild-ryan-hartman-to-appeal-10-game-suspension">longest sanction granted since the 2018-19 season</a>, when Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson earned a 20-game ban for an illegal hit during the preseason.</p>
<p>NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will directly hear Hartman&#8217;s appeal, who can exercise his discretion to reduce the suspension. Hartman missed Tuesday&#8217;s 3-0 loss to the Boston Bruins.</p>
